1ST ANNUAL EDUCATION CONFERENCE
A good time was held by all at the recent CEA Conference in Ontario during Escrow Month on October 19-22, 2006.

Over 1175 individuals attended the almost thirty educational sessions which were presented by tremendous speakers. Many thanks to the Programs Committee, chaired by Tina Hunter and Jon Lizarraga and their committee who worked hard to develop a diverse educational program for you.

We raised over $11,000 in hospitality raffle income, thanks to the diligent work of Hospitality Committee Chair, Earnestine Thomas, her committee, and the many “raffle runners”. Of course, these funds could not be raised without the generous support of our regional associations and companies who donated many prizes – thank you for your support of CEA!

Mark Coniglio, chaired our Golf Tournament again this year. Without Mark’s efforts and attention to detail, our golf tournament would not be as successful as it has been! Many thanks to our very generous sponsors who supported this tournament and provided an outstanding event for over 80 golfers. Please see this newsletter for a complete list of golf tournament sponsors and pictures.

Of course, we could not hold our conference without the loyalty of our exhibitors and sponsors who support our Annual Conference – they are tremendous! Please visit the CEA Web site and this Newsletter for a complete list of exhibitors and sponsors and please be sure to tell them “thanks” for their support when you use their product or service.

This year’s conference was planned by many people, but your Vice President, Ms. Deb Perry was at the helm overseeing the ongoing activity. Great job Deb and thanks to Tom Perry for serving as our Master of Ceremonies during Saturday’s lunch!

Finally, thanks to all of you who attended this year’s conference, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to be with your colleagues, get educated, support CEA, participate in the activities, and share in the vision of the California Escrow Association.

Here are a couple of quotes from conference attendees:

“This was so educational. I really realized how important our profession is. I have been in escrow for twelve years and never attended a conference and now wonder why. I will be attending every year.”

“Would not miss the October event – invaluable. Relevant, topical, something for every attendee.”

Thank you all – see you in October, 2007 in Palm Springs!
