This year I have chosen Operation Gratitude as the charity for CEA. As a supporter of many charities, I felt that Operation Gratitude would be one that would be closely aligned to my theme for this year of “Make a Difference”.
Operation Gratitude is a non profit, all-volunteer organization that sends care packages and letters of support to troops deployed overseas. Its mission is to lift moral, put a smile on a service member’s face and express the appreciation of the America people for the sacrifices of the men and women defending our freedom. These care packages are “Making a Difference” for the men and women in the armed forces.
Because of the watchful eye of CEA on pending Legislative/Regulator matters, we as Escrow Practitioners can rest comfortably knowing we have an Advocate fighting on our behalf. Likewise, Operation Gratitude is an organization that supports people that provide those very same comforts to all Americans.
Regardless of your position for or against any wars, these brave men and women are keeping a watchful eye and fighting so you and I can rest comfortably and live the American Dream. Your support will not be an endorsement of any political position, but will be a strong support of those fighting for us, far away from home.
How can you help?
MONETARY DONATIONS
Any monetary donations should be made payable to Operation Gratitude and sent to CEA Headquarters. CEA will then forward all donations to Operation Gratitude.
HANDWRITTEN LETTERS
Handwritten letters can be sent to CEA Headquarters. CEA will then send them on to Operation Gratitude for inclusion in the care packages.
GOODS
(a list of suggested items can be found at www.operationgratitude.com Goods can be collected through your region, a local company or individuals. Arrangements for delivery of these goods begin in April and can be coordinated directly with Operation Gratitude. Please be sure to indicate that these donations are through CEA and please also inform CEA Headquarters of this direct donation.
TIME
There are two opportunities to join other volunteers to assist in assembling the care packages. We encourage our CEA members to be a part of these events. More information will be provided as to the scheduled dates that CEA will be participating.
CEA wants to track all the donations made by CEA members so that we can provide information to our members throughout the year of our support.
Please join me in supporting Operation Gratitude with your contribution of money, handwritten letters, goods and time. Your help will “Make A Difference!”
Please visit their website at www.operationgratitude.com for all the information and details about this worthy organization.
