Professional Designation Forms

IMPORTANT: You must be a Qualified Active CEA Member to sign up/take the Professional Designation Exams.

Below are the filing guidelines and links to our PD related forms:

CONTINUING EDUCATION FILING GUIDELINES

  • In order to avoid disruption of membership and PD status, all dues must be paid by February 1st of each year. If dues are not paid by February 1st, all rights and privileges, including the ability to maintain PD status and earn credits and the ability to access the Member’s Only area of the CEA website, will be lost.
  • All PD holders must sign in AND sign out for each education session they attend (you are allotted a total 10-minute window - if it is late or short on either end, you will NOT receive credit/unit). You will not receive credit if you only sign in and do not sign out and vice versa.
For example, Jane Doe signs in at 8:08 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. session and then signs out at 8:57 a.m. for the same session that ends at 9:00 a.m. This reflects an eleven-minute absence from the session, therefore, the PD credit will not be issued.
  • Continuing Education credits will be posted in the member's personal profile area, accessible by user id and password, on the CEA website.
  • It is the responsibility of the PD holder to submit all PD credits by December 31st of the current year.
  • CEO, CSEO, CBSS, and CMHS and CET designation holders must earn Continuing Education Credits.
  • Every CEA member who holds a Professional Designation is on the same three-year cycle.
  • By the end of the three-year cycle you must have earned 45 credits and reported same to CEA.
  • If you earn your P.D. during a cycle period, you will be required to obtain a minimum of 12 credits per year for the BALANCE of the current cycle.
  • There is no minimum number of credits that must be earned in any one year.
  • If credits are submitted by December 31st of the year in which they are earned, there is no fee.
  • If credits are submitted after December 31st of the year in which they were earned, there is a $40 administrative fee for each late year that must accompany this form before your credits will be processed.
